Pinkiri is an iOS party game played on one phone passed around a table. This page says exactly what the app keeps on your phone, what it sends elsewhere, and why.
Who is responsible
Julien Montagne, publisher of Pinkiri, as an individual. Contact: hello@julienmontagne.com.
There is no account and no server of ours
Pinkiri asks for no email address and no password, and there is no sign-in. Games are dealt and played on your phone. We run no server that stores anything about you.
What stays on your phone
- Your settings: language, sound and vibration, and whether you have seen the intro.
- The player names you type and the themes you write yourself. They never leave the phone.
- The themes already played, so a new one comes up each round.
- A random identifier, created on first launch. It is derived from nothing about you or your device.
Deleting the app removes all of this from the phone.
What is sent elsewhere
| What | To whom | Why |
|---|---|---|
| The random identifier, and your purchases (which product you hold, whether it is active, when it expires) | RevenueCat, United States | To know which themes you have unlocked and to restore them. Apple handles the payment itself: we never see your name, address or card. |
| A short fixed list of events (see below) with the random identifier, plus device model, iOS version, app version, language and time zone | PostHog, European Union servers | To understand how the app is used and to improve it. PostHog also receives the IP address the request comes from and may use it to estimate an approximate location. |
Automatic capture is off: no screen recording, no session replay, no tap tracking. Player names, the words you type during a round and the themes you write are never sent. Only these events are sent, each with the random identifier:
- Opening the app.
- Each game: the number of players, the category and the mode when it starts; the round number and the number of mistakes when a round ends; the outcome when the game ends.
- The purchase screen: where it was opened from, when it is closed, and whether a purchase started, succeeded or failed, or purchases were restored.
What Pinkiri does not do
- No advertising, no advertising identifier, no third-party ad network.
- No tracking of you across other apps or websites, and no data sold or shared for advertising.
- No location, contacts, photo library, camera, microphone or health data.
- No online play and no chat. Nothing you do in the app is visible to anyone outside the room.
How long it is kept
What is on your phone stays until you delete the app. Purchase records are kept by RevenueCat and analytics events by PostHog, each under its own retention policy, until you ask for them to be deleted.
Deleting what we hold
Deleting the app erases everything on your phone. The customer record RevenueCat keeps for your purchases and the events PostHog received are not on your phone: to have them deleted, write to hello@julienmontagne.com. It is done within 30 days. Purchases belong to your Apple ID and can still be restored afterwards.
Your rights
Wherever you live, you can ask what we hold about you, ask for a copy, ask for it to be corrected or deleted, at the address above. If you are in the European Economic Area or the United Kingdom, the legal basis is the performance of the service you asked for (providing your purchase) and our legitimate interest in running and improving the app (analytics). You may object to that processing and you may complain to your supervisory authority; in France, that is the CNIL. If you are in California, we do not sell or share personal information as those words are defined there.
Children
Pinkiri is not directed at children under 13, and we do not knowingly collect anything from them.
Who processes data for us
- Apple: the App Store and payment.
- RevenueCat: purchase status.
- PostHog: analytics.
RevenueCat is based in the United States, so the data it processes for us leaves the European Union.
Changes
If this policy changes, the date at the top changes with it. If a feature that collects more data is added, this page will say so before it is available in the app.
